Corbett Balks at Health Care Exchanges for Pa.

Pennsylvania will join other GOP-led states putting the Affordable Care Act mandate back in federal hands.

According to the Associated Press (AP), Gov. Corbett announced on Wednesday that Pennsylvania will not be setting up its own healthcare exchanges as mandated by the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The responsibility for the exchange now falls back to the federal government. Corbett reportedly blamed federal authorities for the move, saying they didn't provide adequate answers to questions about how the exchange will be paid for and other details. Small Crowd Protests Obama Visit to MontCo

About three dozen people lined Bethlehem Pike in Hatfield Friday.

Holding signs that read "Hey middle class, they are coming for your $ next," and "Taxing the rich hurts everyone," a group of about three dozen people protested President Barack Obama's visit to Hatfield Friday morning. The protestors gathered in the vacant lot of a closed down gas station near the intersection of Bethlehem Pike and Unionville Road in Hatfield, waving signs and garnering the occasional honk in return. The Supreme Court’s victorious healthcare ruling today ranks right up there with the passage of the Women’s Right to Vote! Pa. Gov. Tom Corbett Comments on Supreme Court Healthcare Ruling

"Not only is it a tax, but it may turn out to be one of the largest tax increases in the history of our nation," said Corbett.
