As pro-lifers, we are extremely saddened by the profoundly wrong decision of the Supreme Court regarding Obamacare. It’s an outrage that they have chosen to endorse the government’s unconstitutional ability to force all Americans to not only purchase a product they may or may not want but to subsidize abortions as well. The decision today is truly this generation's Roe v. Wade. We we must send a …   more ›

24th Ranked Pirates Aim for Successful Season

College showcase 15U baseball squad Collegeville Pirates are ranked 24th in the nation in 2012.

Everyone's heard of the local American Legion's Spring City Red Sox, but there was also a huge following in 2011 for the Collegeville Pirates. The Pirates, after a stellar 2011 season, are ranked 24th in the country among youth baseball organizations designated as travel showcase teams. The Pirates are a 15U squad comprised of Limerick, Collegeville, Skippack, Schwenksville and Harlyesville kids. According to team dad Ted Miller, a core group of the boys has been playing together since the age of nine. "Dave Oczypok coached them through the travel program there," said Miller. "They were pretty successful. When they got to be 13, you can either go on to play legion ball locally or this group. The families of the parents said 'Why don't we …

Fourth Quarter Momentum Leads Rams Past P.V.

Final score and top five photos of Friday night's game.

The Spring-Ford High School Rams defeated Perkiomen Valley at Coach McNelly Stadium on Friday night, 42-28. With the win, the Rams clinched home field in the first round of the district playoffs. "We’re really excited about the home game," said head coach Chad Brubaker. "We don’t care who we play. It’s just going to be exciting here. I hope we get a huge crowd. Our student section was great tonight. They didn’t have shirts on in the cold weather. I hope they don’t get sick." It wasn't the best of first halves for the Rams, as Brubaker admitted, but the boys in recent weeks have known how to get the job done in the fourth quarter. "I felt like we had a good week of practice," Brubaker said. "I felt like we were focused in the beginning of …

Editor Kevin Haslam speaks with senior Nikki Lynch about soccer, college and being a three-sport athlete in this week's Q&A.

When speaking with assistant head coach Denise Johnston of the girls soccer team, one player came to mind as the star player of the Rams squad: senior captain Nikki Lynch. Lynch took some time to sit down with Limerick-Royersford-Spring City Patch to discuss her soccer career and life in general in this week’s Q&A. LRSC Patch: How long have you been playing soccer for? Nikki Lynch: Probably about 12 or 13 years. I've been playing since I was really young. Patch: When did you realize you fell in love with it, when did you realize you were good at it and…
