The new Limerick Gift and Garden will hold their grand opening on March 23 and 24.
An old friend has a new face on Ridge Pike. Limerick Gift and Garden, formerly Oaks Garden Center, opened on Friday, March 1. Owner Joe Dudek said they moved locations due to the development and the tearing down of the Oaks building. The new location, located at 280 Ridge Pike, will not provide the bulk products like the Oaks location, however Dudek said the gift portion of the business will play a more prominent role. Dudek said Limerick just recently rezoned the area of Ridge Pike they moved into for commercial, with the intention for it to be the next Skippack Village, and the family wanted to get into Limerick early. The building they are currently in is over 100 years old and they have restored it and much of the property, as well. …

Lewis Road project to begin Monday, supervisors send letter supporting airport expansion
Limerick Township's massive Ridge Pike rezoning project moved forward again at Tuesday's Board of Supervisors meeting, with a decision to proceed with developing a plan to create new zoning districts. The township's staff has created the beginnings of a redistricting plan. Solicitor Joseph McGrory and township manager Dan Kerr said they just needed some direction from the board on whether they preferred the district or the overlay plan. "If you go with the district," McGrory told the board, "the plan will just need adjusting [as the project develops]. Doing an overlay means a total rewrite." Supervisors Thomas Neafcy, Joseph St. Pedro and Elaine DeWan all said they supported the zoning district plan. Supervisor Ken Sperring, who said at …

A look at a new business in town.
Kelly's Worldclass Automotive in Limerick is a new and, according to owners Pat and Christi Kelly, thriving, family-owned automotive repair service center. The business has had its doors open since June 2011 and is being graciously welcomed in the Limerick community, according to Christi. "Running our business in Limerick has been an exciting, yet challenging experience," she said. "We had been looking to open an automotive repair shop off and on for a few years. We never found the right place and when we were least expecting it, a friend of ours was able to offer a great opportunity with an excellent location." Christi said her and her husband feel comfortable at the 444 W. Ridge Pike location, because their kids have had the opportunity …
