The following clip comes from Carl Hessler Jr. of The Pottstown Mercury: NORRISTOWN – A Royersford woman will be under court supervision for five years after admitting to taking part in a residential burglary spree that targeted homes in Limerick, and Lower and Upper Providence. Alora Amber Rooney, 27, of the 500 block of Walnut Street, was sentenced in Montgomery County Court to two to five years in a state correctional facility after she pleaded guilty to charges of burglary in connection with burglaries or attempted break-ins that occurred between April and July 2011. Judge Garrett D. Page, who accepted a plea agreement in the matter, said Rooney is eligible for the state Department of Corrections’ Recidivism Risk Reduction Incentive …

The following clip comes from Rose Quinn and Cindy Scharr of The Delco Times: Retired Upper Darby firefighter and former volunteer fire Chief Donald G. Clark of Royersford died March 14. He was fondly remembered at services here in Delaware County on Tuesday. The former Drexel Hill resident and Upper Darby High School alum was a firefighter in Upper Darby for 41 years... The staff changes were formalized at a March 8 board of supervisors meeting.
The Whitemarsh Police Department swore in two new officers and promoted two more at the March 8 regular meeting of the township board of supervisors. In front of their families, the board, and police chief Michael Beaty, officers Adrian Stead and Ken Cambell took an oath administered by Judge Deborah Lukens. The men were formally hired in October after being culled from a list of 120 applicants. Stead, is a Royersford resident with a wife and three sons, and comes to Whitemarsh from the Pottstown Police Department, where he served 11 years as an officer and detective. Campbell, whose wife gave birth to the couple's first child in February, comes to the township from Haverford, where he served for two years as a police officer. “I am …

Carl Hessler, Jr. of the Springford Valley Reporter reported Friday that a 19-year-old Royersford man will serve two years of court suspension after admitting he took part in an assault at a ball field in Royersford. "Kamau Jahill Jackson, 19, of the first block of Second Avenue, was sentenced in Montgomery County Court on Friday to two years’ probation on misdemeanor charges of simple assault and conspiracy to engage in simple assault in connection with the 9:52 p.m. Oct. 15, 2010, altercation that occurred on a ball field near the Spring-Ford School 8th Grade Center in the 700 block of Washington Street," Hessler reported in the story.
