Driver Pleads Guilty in July Swamp Pike Crash

The one-car crash on Swamp Pike last summer seriously injured the car's passenger.

Arrison Renee Bunner, a Norristown resident, admitted in court that she was driving under the influence of drugs when she crashed her car on Swamp Pike in July 2012, critically injuring her passenger. A report in the Pottstown Mercury indicated that Bunner, 22, pleaded guilty to a felony charge of aggravated assault by a vehicle. She was originally charged, according to court records, with a myriad of driving and drug-related charges, but those charges were dropped with the guilty plea on the more serious charge. The accident injured Exeter resident Brian Blackwell, 26, who was airlifted to Hahnemann University Hospital after the crash. Teen Hurt in Crash 'Right Where She Needs to Be,' Mom Says

Madeline Maurer's mother posted on Pope John Paul II High School's Facebook page.

According to a post on Pope John Paul II High School's Facebook page, Madeline Maurer's mother Kate, said her daughter is "right where she needs to be," according to her neurologist. The post reads:  Thank you Fr. Delacy [Father Stephen DeLacy, PJPHS school pastor] for visiting Madeline. I will keep everyone posted. The neurologist and his nurse both said that Madeline is right where she needs to be. It has only been 4 days!! Please keep praying! And for every person whose hands touch and heal Madeline. Driver in Limerick Crash Charged with DUI

A Norristown woman was charged with multiple offenses stemming from a July crash on Swamp Pike.

The Pottstown Mercury reports that 21-year-old Arrison Renee Bunner of Norristown was charged Thursday with multiple criminal offenses related to a July 13 crash on Swamp Pike. Bunner faces felony charges of aggravated assault with a vehicle and several other drug-related offenses. Brian Blackwell, 26, of Exeter, was seriously injured in the crash and, according to court records, remains in a comatose state in Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital. Bunner was driving northbound on Swamp Pike when she allegedly lost control of her 2007 Saturn and crashed into a utility pole.
