Nice job Officer Bonner. Had it not been for his keen eye they may have never been caught. I do think the officers need more freedom in stopping these high speed chases before they start. I agree with Timothy that the officers should have shot out the tires or even the perps before the chase got started. While no one was injured in the chase, an innocent person, child or family could have been …   more ›

Police Investigating Recent Break-Ins

Daytime burglaries in Royersford area

Updated 3:09PM: Patch spoke to Detective Ray Bechtel of the Upper Providence Police Department. "[The burglaries] are spread throughout the township," Bechtel said. "Over the last two weeks, we've had them along the Egypt Road corridor, in neighborhoods along either side of Egypt Road." The two burglaries on South Township Line Road, according to Bechtel, are newer incidents. Bechtel said that this appears to be a high number of burglaries. Earlier story: Upper Providence police have issued a press release stating they are investigating "numerous burglaries in the past several weeks." Two of the burglaries have happened along South Township Line Road. The burglaries are occurring in residential areas during the day. Police report that the …

Anniversary Poll - Top Police/Fire Officer of 2011

We continue our year in review by looking back the men and women who serve our communities

Bloggers and students and businesses, oh my! We've certainly had a whirlwind of fond memories over the past few days as we have looked back at 2011 - LRSC Patch's first year in existence. We've seen the ways that the aforementioned people/places can make an impact on our local community, and of course the voting is still open, and the nominations still continue. Today, we look at one of the most integral portions of community - the men and women who serve us: police officers and firefighters. There have been plenty of brow-wiping moments in 2011 in the Limerick-Royersford-Spring City area, and, if it weren't for these brave officers, those brow-wipers could have become tear-jerkers. So, we honor those who fight for the safety of the Spring…

I agree Elisha. Legalize it and treat it under the same laws as alcohol. Pennsylvania could even add it to their state store lineup. The state would receive a much needed injection of tax revenue which could go towards helping the school systems, senior programs, etc. I also totally agree about the intention to distribute. That was part of my friend's complaint is that it is treated as a felony …   more ›
