I wish you the best Mike. You were the first council member that I felt really cared about Lansdale. It's sad to see this bickering back and forth with everyone. You must be doing something right not to have this comment thread filled with vile.

Grants are the taxpayer's money. When Grants aren't used correctly, money can be pulled from the Borough, I believe something like that happened with 311 West main.

Mayor Andy,
I give you tons of credit for putting up with this type of bullshit. You have worked very hard to put the people of Lansdale first. I am thankful for that .

LOL!
"Just so there is no confusion." After all of this, "he said she said" crap.

I agree. Just because there are empty retail spaces does not mean Lansdale could be left holding the bag on a bad development deal. It's not like the Borough would be left with a half finished building development in the middle of downtown after using taxpayer funds, right?

"You also continue to talk about artists not wanting the current center. (Which is a mess.) How about creating a venue that artists will actually want to perform in, and people will want to come to?"
Why would any artist want to perform in a venue run by a bunch of bickering neighbors?

I agree with Ray.
Lansdale will be here long after us and we should be cautious about creating problems for the future.

"For example, at Station Square approximately 90% of the apartments are rented and only 50% of the retail space. So, proposing to add up to 20,000 square feet of retail space in the area along Madison Street where empty retail shops already exist doesn’t seem prudent. "
These will be new and may bring in a higher income bracket renter. I, for one, would love to have the ability to afford such a place and live in a mall, next to the train.

I lived on Shaw Ave for over 10 years. I watched a house that sat neglected become a boarded up drug haven. The absentee owner? The Borough of Lansdale. My neighbor was a drug addict thief who robbed many houses in the neighborhood. The Police all but laughed at my wife and I when we filed a police report. Yes, my opinion of Lansdale's lower rent district might be a bit harsh. It is a result of my personal experiences living there.

I have to agree with Drew on this one. From my personal (12+ years in Ward 2, I lived next to 5th street pub, owned a home on shaw ave, now live I in Sellersville, I still have a tax payment to be made in Lansdale( makes me relevant), involved with a business venture in Lansdale) so for what it's worth....) experience, not many people/politicians from Ward 3 even acknowledge Ward 2 exists. Ward 2 has it's challenges that ward 3 does not, it's a world away, but only a few blocks away.
