Barry , ah yes... "Hunting Fever". I had that once but it didn't take hold as strong as this Fishing thing. Thanks for the compliment and for reading "Fishing Fever" .

Only the Baby Boomers will recall The Spirit Of Christmas (1950) and "The Night Before Christmas" performed by the "Mabel Beaton Marionettes" These two classic short films get my vote and were shown together in a time span of about 1/2 hour. Simple compared to the special effects of today. Check your TV listing for PBS channel. I think they are running them on Dec 23rd. I recently found them on you tube. Here is the link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsDBfPWDv28

Andrew, thanks for the link. I did visit and read your observations of the drawdown. Your photography is real nice. The wood platforms that you mentioned are actually for turtles. When the water is at normal level they float, ancored down by the cinder blocks. I was also disheartened by the amount of human trash, broken glass and junk that is now exposed. Your blog was a good read especially because your intent to explore the shore line was different than mine. Thanks for reading "Fishing Fever"

This is great and a rare sight indeed. Thanks for posting these pics Mr. Hoffman. There is much information about Eagles on the Pa. Game Commission site and it's worth a look. Anyone seeing these birds should be aware of the published "Bald Eagle Nest Etiquette". Check out this link:

SFC ... If we get ice on Marsh Creek it could be interesting due to the water level being down 8 feet! Thanks for reading "Fishing Fever"

I am sure Dot Jones deserves all the credit given but it should read the Limerick Township Historical Society not the Spring-Ford Historical Society. Mr. Bill Brunner is the President of the Spring-Ford Historical Society. Anyway.... Congrats to Dot on a job well done!

Sounds like your boys visit the Mingo. It was a great adventure back when I was young. I hope they enjoy the outdoor time around the Mingo as much as we did way back when it was wild. Thanks for reading!
