Admitted Royersford Stabber’s Victim Wants ‘No Contact’ Order Lifted

Matthew Harmon, 60, stabbed his girlfriend with a steak knife during an argument, according to police.

A Montgomery County Judge refused to lift an order barring a 38-year-old woman allegedly stabbed in the back in April from seeing her 60-year-old boyfriend, who admitted to stabbing her in court.

Matthew Harmon “accepted” that he stabbed his girlfriend during an April 27 domestic incident in his Royersford home in a courtroom Thursday; the victim suffered a wound on her lower back that required four stables to close, according to The Mercury.

The victim said that Harmon stabbed her while she was trying to leave the residence. On April 27, Harmon was charged with aggravated and simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and disorderly conduct, according to court records— he faces a maximum of five to ten years in jail.

Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas Judge Wendy Demchick-Alloy told the 38-year-old victim that the court order would not be lifted, and if the couple still had contact with one another, Demchick-Alloy would revoke the man’s $50,000 bail, sending him back to prison.

“My concern is that you don’t get hurt. I’ve got to make sure you’re safe. I’m very troubled by what happened here,” said Demchick-Alloy. “This man just admitted to stabbing you in the back so there will be no more visits together. I can’t trust him near you.”

A hearing was scheduled to address the possibility that the couple was together on Wednesday, in violation of a previous court order.  Royersford Police will testify at the hearing, where Harmon’s bail could be revoked.
