Limerick

The Limerick Township Police Department logged 170 incidents between Sept. 19 and 25. Of the incidents, 8 were deemed false alarms.

Among the calls to which the police responded were the following incidents of note, along with a few reports from previous weeks that have now been closed.

Man Gets DUI After Urinating in Sly Fox Parking Lot

Responding Officer Kevin McGuigan was dispatched to around 1:39 a.m. on Sept. 11 to reports of two men urinating in the parking lot and one man walking off toward Royersford. After McGuigan arrived, he was told the two men urinating got back into the car and drove toward North Lewis Road.

McGuigan observed the vehicle on the 400 block of North Lewis and caught it at the Linfield , where the driver pulled in the lot. McGuigan sensed a strong odor of alcohol when speaking with the driver, Keith Edward Omilak, 21 of Limerick. Omilak admitted to urinating in the Sly Fox parking lot and told McGuigan he was drinking earlier that night.

Omilak's BAC was tested and found to be a .126, after he failed the field sobriety test.

Public Drunkenness Issued to Wawa Nuisance

Responding Officer John Kehoe was dispatched to the on S. Township Line Road after complaints of a shirtless man ranting inside of the store. The incident occurred on Sept. 19 at 1:39 a.m.

Witnesses reported that the man, Joseph Brendan Herbetko, 23 of Royersford, removed his shirt, threw it on top of a display and started cursing and taunting other patrons, shouting "I could take you all." Right before Kehoe's arrival, Herbetko left in a grey Saturn.

Upon locating the vehicle, Herbetko, who was not the driver, was questioned by Kehoe. He agreed to providing a breath sample, in which his BAC was revealed to be a .163. He told Kehoe that he had already been cited for public drunkenness in West Norriton Township around 12:10 a.m. He was released into the driver's care after the first incident and stopped at the Wawa to get a hoagie, where he claims other customers were verbally harassing him.

The witness to the incident refuted those claims upon second contact. Herbetko was issued a non-traffic citation for public drunkenness. His driver's voluntary PBT showed a .000 BAC.

Two Women Not So Smooth at Kohl's Theft

Responding Officer David Bartok was dispatched to on S. Township Line Road for a retail theft on Sept. 24 at 4:16 p.m. Upon arrival, Julie Elise Marble, 21 of Limerick and Krista Breann Catanese, 22 of Pottstown were in custody of the store.

It was explained that the two walked into the north side of the store and began selecting clothing and placing them in their bags and purses and proceeded to walk out of the store without paying. It was later noted that the seven items stolen from the store were valued at a combined total of $63.07. Marble also told officers there were stolen items from in her car, which were valued at eight items for $98.92. All stolen merchandise was returned and the two were issued non-traffic citations for retail theft. Neither had prior arrests for that charge.

Woman Almost Gets Away with a Boatload of Stolen Merchandise from Outlets

Responding Officer Kevin McGuigan was dispatched to Bass Outlet at the Philadelphia Premmium Outlets on Sept. 20 at 2:32 p.m. in response to a retail theft in progress. A female, later identified as Anna Michele Albecker, 23 of Pottstown was seen taking three pairs of shoes into the fitting room and coming out with none of them. She left the store with the shoes concealed and went to Gap, where two Bass employees followed her.

Upon McGuigan's arrival, Albecker was interviewed and told the officer that she did not take anything from the store, but wouldn't allow him to look in her bags. He checked her for issues of warrants for her arrest, in which he found one issued in Florida for failure to appear in court for a pending DUI. The state did not want her back if she was found outside of Florida.

Albecker then admitted to taking the shoes, along with jewelry and sunglasses, a combined value of $134.61. The outlets' security team notified McGuigan that they had received a complaint from Espirit about Albecker taking merchandise. Albecker told the officer the other items were in her car. The following items were also recovered:

  • Men's underwear and a purse from Van Heusen: $25.15
  • Seven items of clothing from Express: $294.57
  • Undisclosed items form Nike, J Crew, Ann Taylor and Forever 21

Albecker was arraigned and bail was set at $2,500 cash. Her preliminary hearing is set for today at 11:00 a.m.

Royersford

Woman Strikes Curb in Possible DUI

On Sept. 25 around 2:00 a.m., police officers were on stationary patrol in the area of Lewis Road and Walnut Street, when they heard a loud bang. Police saw a 1994 Oldsmobile drive up on the curb on the southwest corner of Main Street and Lewis Road. The operator, Alissa Kriczky, left area in the vehicle travelling a short distance on a flat tire to the . Kriczky denied striking the curbline upon contact. Police said she exhibited signs of intoxication and was taken into custody. Blood was drawn for BAC results - charges are pending for DUI.
