Woman Assaulted on 422

Upper Providence and Pennsylvania State Police responded to a domestic violence call on 422 on Saturday afternoon.

A woman was assaulted on the westbound lanes of Route 422 in Upper Providence on Saturday afternoon in what police called "a domestic violence issue."

The incident occurred at about 1:20 p.m. between the Oaks and Collegeville exits in Upper Providence.

"She's beat up pretty bad," said a responding police officer, identified by his uniform nametag as Officer Kennmare.

An initial report that an unidentified male subject had pulled the woman from a vehicle could not immediately be confirmed.

State Police said a news release will not be out on the incident until at least Sunday.
