Teen and Minor Found Intoxicated at Manderach Park

A male and female were found sleeping in sleeping bags at Manderach Park on Wednesday at about 4:35 a.m.

Responding officer John Cassel found the two after seeing an unoccupied green BMW while on a standard patrol of the area. In the car, he saw a bottle of Pinnacle Whipped on the floor and further investigated the situation.

Cassel found the two sleeping by the baseball diamond, along with a half-smoked cigar, some small fireworks and a Wawa orange drink, which was about one-third full of alcohol. Cassel woke the two and escorted them to the car.

Upon identifying them, the male was found to be under the age of 18, while the female was identified as Laura Ellen Hoffman, 19. When identifying Hoffman, police found a bag with a small amount of marijuana in it. The minor immediately said it was his, but Hoffman was carrying it for him.

Both admitted to alcohol use but refused a Breathalyzer Test. They were cited for underage drinking, disorderly conduct and trespassing, and were released to their parents on the scene.
