Man Allegedly Beats Up and Throws Sister Out of a Car

On June 10 at 6:22 p.m., Officer Christopher Wienczek responded to the 500 block of Chestnut Street in Royersford to talk to an alleged assault victim. After chatting with the 17-year-old female victim, Wienczek determined the following story:

The female victim allegedly was picking her brother, an Eric Williams, 20 of Spring City, up from his place of employment, Family Dollar in Royersford. The two reportedly got into a verbal argument over who was going to drive home. Williams allegedly took the keys from the victim, who was sitting in the drivers seat. She then got out of the car and tried to get the keys from him, but he allegedly pushed her and grabbed her by the throat and choked her.

The victim allegedly scratched Williams in the face until he let go and then he grabbed her by the hair and slammed her to the ground and got into the vehicle. The victim then allegedly approached the door and Williams again got out, choked her and slammed her to the ground, this time telling her he was going to leave her. The victim got into the passenger's seat of the car and as they drove home another argument reportedly ensued.

Williams turned the radio volume up and the victim turned it down. Williams allegedly punched the victim in the face four times and "threw her" from the vehicle, telling her to walk home. The victim approached a home on Chestnut Street and the resident called police.

Williams was issued an arrest for simple assault and harassment. He was taken to Pottstown Police Department and then arraigned at 10 percent of $2,000 bail. He could not post the $200 and was remanded to Montgomery County Correctional Facility with a "no contact with the victim" requirement.
