Man and Woman Cut Security Sensors Off Jeans

On May 4 at 1:11 p.m., responding Officer John Cassel was dispatched to at the for a retail theft. Loss prevention reported to Cassel that they had in custody a Dominique Asia Halim, 22 of Philadelphia, and a Danny Dawayne Brown, 24 of Philadelphia.

Video surveilance allegedly revealed the two selecting jeans and taking them to the fitting room. It was then observed that they left the fitting room, selected different jeans and went to the shoe department.

Loss prevention officers said they then observed Brown trying on sneakers, reaching into his back pocket and cutting the belt loop sensors off of the selected jeans with a pair of scissors. Brown did the same in the women's shoe department as Halim tried on shoes. They were then seen going to the contemporary department and concealing the jeans in Halim's purse.

The sensors were discarded in a box of men's shoes. The two then left the store and were approached by LP.

Brown allegedly ran from the officers, but Halim was caught immediately, despite her frequent attempts to get away. LP reported Brown stopped running and gave up after about 50 feet. Police found the following items in possession of the two. They could not provide receipts.

  • (1) $18 7-pack kids panties from
  • (2) $298 "7 for all mankind" women's blue jeans
  • (1) $149 "7 for all mankind" women's white jeans

The suspects were transported to Pottstown Police Department and then to Lower Providence for arraignment. Bail was set for $10,000 cash. Both were housed at Montgomery County Correctional Facility.

Woman Takes Off from Kohl's

On May 2 at 4:52 p.m., responding Officer John Henry was alerted of a retail theft at . The suspect allegedly left the scene in a blue Jeep Cherokee.

Henry arrived on location and spoke with loss prevention, who notified him that a black female entered the store and walked to the accessories department. She allegedly chose the following items and left the store without paying for them.

  • (2) $31.50 earrings
  • (2) $37.98 sunglasses

One pair of sunglasses was allegedly seen on the woman's head when she was pulled over by Upper Providence Township police at the boar ramp on Route 113. The woman was identified as Stephanie Lynn Sallad, 23 of Phoenixville.

Upon investigation, officers found that Sallad had two prior retail theft convictions, one occurring in 2010 and one in 2007. The incident in 2007 was at Kohl's and she was told she was not allowed back to the store.

Sallad was charged with retail theft and related charges. Her bail was set for $5,000 and her preliminary hearing was on May 9 at 10:45 a.m.

Men Caught with Drugs While Shooting Music Video

On May 6 at 4:14 p.m., responding Officer Pat Roche was dispatched to the Philadelphia Premium Outlets for suspicious activity at docking bay 7. Upon arrival, he met with a security officer, who said three black males were in a car at the bay "smoking a blunt."

Roche made contact with the men, two of which admitted to possessing a small amount of marijuana. They handed over two small baggies and a cigar wrapper - all reportedly containing a small amount of marijuana. The men were identified as a Christian Lloyd Debrest, 22 of Philadelphia and a Michael Anthony Durham, 21 of Philadelphia.

The third man did not have any marijuana in his possession.

The men allegedly explained to Roche that they were preparing to film a music video at the outlets and smoked marijuana earlier. There was a fourth male involved, who was a juvenile. His mother was on scene and told police she wanted her son to have nothing to do with those men now that she knew they were smoking marijuana. The woman allegedly explained to police that her son was learning how to produce music videos and was helping the men out.

The two men were cited for narcotics possession and released.

Gilbertsville Minor Stopped by Police, Alcohol Involved

On May 6 at 2:50 a.m., Officer Brian Tyler was patrolling the area of Crowne Point and King Drive when he saw a male getting into a parked, running vehicle. Tyler asked the boy if he was alright and the boy responded that he dropped something in the car, which is why he stopped.

Tyler said the boy, a Brandon Christopher Rocus, 18 of Gilbertsville, smelled of alcohol, had slow movements and bloodshot eyes. Rocus told Tyler that he was in Philadelphia and came to Limerick to drop off a friend. He denied drinking multiple times.

Tyler administered a PBT and Rocus blew a .165. His mother was called to pick him up and he was cited for underage consumption of alcohol.
