Limerick

The logged 162 incidents between Jan. 30 and Feb. 5. Of them, 14 were deemed false alarms.

Vehicles Broken Into in January

The department reported three thefts from vehicles on Jan. 31. Two iPods, miscellaneous change and a GPS were stolen from one car on Victory Way and two cars on Ashbrook Drive.

Retail Theft at Kohl's

On Feb. 3 at 4:26 p.m., responding Officer Chris Wienczek was dispatched to for a retail theft. Upon arrival, he spoke with the Loss Prevention Officer at the store, who revealed Kelsey Borzumati, 22 of Spring City, stole eight items totaling $77.60.

The LP officer stated Borzumati selected several items from the shelves and walked into the dressing room, but did not carry anything out of the dressing room. An employee of the store checked the dressing room for the items, but they were not found.

Borzumati then paid for a few items and began walking out of the store. When LP approached her, she reportedly admitted to stealing items, which were found in her purse. Borzumati had no prior arrests for retail theft and was issued a summary citation.

Royersford

submitted the following incident of note.

DUI, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Driving without a License

On Feb. 7 at 11:52 p.m., police were dispatched for a hit and run accident in progress. A neighbor reported to police upon arrival that the striking vehicle was now located around the corner from the scene of the crime. The accident occurred on the 300 block of Washington Street.

Officer Joseph Oberholtzer found the vehicle on S. Third Avenue and identified the driver as Nicholas Herbst, 18 of Royersford. Oberholtzer reported Herbst smelled of alcohol and slurred his speech. He was taken in for a certified test of his blood. Results of that test are still pending. The accident investigation revealed Herbst struck at least two different vehicles in the area.

Pennsylvania State Police

The Pennsylvania State Police Skippack Barracks submitted the following incident.

DUI on 422

On Feb. 8 at 11:05 a.m. a 36-year-old male suspect from Yeadon was caught speeding at mile marker 180 on 422 West in Limerick. Upon contact with the suspect, the state trooper deemed him to be under the influence of a controlled substance. He was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested and transported to a local hospital for blood draw. Charges will be filed once the lab report is completed.
