Man Receives First Public Drunkenness of the Night

On March 10 at 12:40 a.m., police responded to a disturbance at at 772 Walnut St. Upon arrival, they found Craig Marshall, 36 of Main Street in Royersford, to be intoxicated. Witnesses said he attempted to start fights with male patrons inside the establishment and to have "verbally harassed" female patrons in the bar by making obscene comments.

Marshall was removed from the bar area prior to police arrival. He was issued a citation for public drunkenness.

Boat Motor Stolen from Residential Property

On March 7 at 3:09 p.m., a male living on Fruitville Road informed police that his Mercury Outboard SHP Boar Motor, worth about $250, was stolen from the front of his property between 11:45 a.m. and 1 p.m. the day prior.

Responding Officer Christopher Wienczek spoke with the victim, who said he had a "For Sale" sign on the motor, which has been there for three months. The victim said a chain is usually secured around the motor but on the day it was stolen, the chain was off. No further action has been taken.

Shed Break-In Still Unsolved

On March 7 at 10:37 a.m., a representative from the Klein Company contacted police to report two gas cans worth $100 and a broken carpet cleaner with no monetary value to be stolen from the shed behind the maintenance garage at . The victim reported the lock was broken off the shed. No further action was taken.

Strange Woman Lurks at Residential Home

On March 6 at 3:38 p.m., a female contacted police from her home on Bartlett Drive to report a suspicious person. She told police that she came home and opened the garage door, and when she came out, she saw a woman, about 5-foot-6, in her mid-40s and about 150 pounds at her front door taking a package that was recently delivered.

When the resident approached the stranger, she asked what she was doing, and the woman asked if the Taylors lived at the residence. The woman responded by saying no, and pointing at her name on the package, which the stranger was attempting to conceal under her coat. The stranger returned the package and drove away. The package had $30-worth of nail products in it. No further action was taken.

Pottstown Man Fumbles his Drugs/Paraphernalia

On March 8 at 9:27 p.m., Corporal Fitz Duffy was patrolling the area of 21 Kugler Road. He saw a vehicle parked near with two men inside. Upon getting a closer look, he saw the man in the passenger seat bend over and reach between his legs. As Duffy approached further, the passenger got out of the car.

Duffy told the passenger to get back in the car two times to which the passenger acted "annoyed" and said, "What do you mean?" He did eventually comply.

The two men in the vehicle gave Duffy their respective forms of identification. The driver was identified as Justin Michael Harp, 20 of Birdsboro. The passenger was identified as Kurt Michael Soring, 30 of Pottstown. Soring told Duffy that Harp was giving him a ride home from work.

Duffy asked the men to step out of the car so he could search the area in which Soring was reaching down to, and as Soring exited the vehicle, Duffy noticed "flakes" of a substance representing marijuana on Soring's shoes. Soring also exited the car with a knit cap in his hand and was asked to place it on top of the car. When he did, it opened and revealed a bag of marijuana, a smoking pipe, a glass vile with pills in it, a lighter and chapstick. Duffy reported there was not a valid prescription for the pills, which were determined to be Suboxone.

Harp was issued a disorderly conduct citation and released from the scene. Soring was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Walter Gadzicki at 10:30 a.m. the next morning and placed on $5,000 unsecured bail. His preliminary hearing was rescheduled to April 18 at 9:45 a.m.

Man Receives Second Public Drunkenness of the Night

On March 10 at 1:21 a.m., Officers Brian Tyler and Chris Iochum were at on Township Line Road. The officers saw a man inside the Wawa at the deli counter stumbling around. They then witnessed him try to grab food from the counter, miss, and drop it behind the chips display.

The man then attempted to give another man money and the man put his hands up in a defensive position. The subject then took a pack of cigarettes off the counter and threw it at the man, hitting him in the chest.

Officers approached the subject, who was identified as Craig Patrick Marshall, 36 of Royersford, and asked why he threw the cigarettes.

"Because he's an [expletive]," Marshall told police.

Police found that Marshall was arrested an hour earlier by Royersford Police for starting fights at Tom's Bar & Grille. Royersford Officer David Taylor advised Marshall not to leave his home for the rest of the night upon charging him.

Limerick police asked Marshall how he got the Wawa, to which he first said he drove, and then repeatedly said he walked. He also said he did not remember being arrested earlier in the night. Marshall was taken to Pottstown Police Department and housed over night. He was charged with public drunkenness.

Chester Springs Man Threatens to Kill Local Employee

On March 8 at 8:07 p.m. an employee of Philly Cheese Steak and Wings at 204 W. Ridge Pike contacted police about verbal harassment and threats.

The employee reported that at 7:57 p.m., he received a call from an unknown man who said, "You [expletive] people better take my [expletive] number off your fax list."

The employee tried to explain he was not a manager, but the man responded, "I don't give a [expletive]! I will put an end to this by coming down to [expletive] kill you and I will be coming with the cops to do so."

Using caller identification, police determined the number belonged to the Holleran household in Chester Springs. Police called the number and a man answered the phone. The man, Gerald Holleran, 56 of Chester Springs, admitted he called the restaurant because he was upset that he's been receiving faxes from them and other area restaurants.

However, Holleran denied making the threats that the employee accused him of making. Police determined the employee had no reason to lie and since Holleran admitted to being upset, they believed the employee's account of the story to be true. Holleran was mailed a non-traffic citation for harassment through communication.

Valentine's Day Accident Caused by DUI

On Feb. 14 at 6:52 p.m., Resonding Officer Christopher Wienczek was dispatched to N. Lewis Road near the . Upon arrival, he made contact with the driver, Frances Sollinger, 52 of Linfield, who was involved in the accident. Wienczek reported he immediately smelled the odor of alcohol on her and she admitted to having "a few beers."

Wienczek also reported Sollinger couldn't remember how the crash occurred, and that she couldn't complete field sobriety tests due to her injuries. She was transported to Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, where she was treated for her injuries and gave permission to draw blood for PBT.

Officers reported Sollinger admitting to taking 10 milligrams of Percocet six times per day. The nurse told Wienczek that was a lot for a daily dosage.

Sollinger's blood came back with .146 BAC and other drugs were found in her system, the identity of which could not be released.

Spring City

Woman Jailed in Light of Domestic Issues

Spring City police have arrested Jean Carver-Vooz, 45 of S. Main Street in Spring City, who was  charged in reference to three different incidents, the last one being Feb. 29. Police charged her with stalking, loitering and prowling at nighttime, defiant trespass, and disorderly conduct.

The charges come from domestic disputes between her and her ex-husband, who lives on Central Avenue.

Carver-Vooz was processed and taken before Judge DeAngelo on March 15 where she was committed to Chester County Prison in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.
