Patch: What brought you to Spring City?

Chief Brown: I saw an opening here. It's about the same size in population as East Brandywine. So, I thought it would be a nice change of pace to bring back a police environment and build on it again.

Patch: What is your most memorable moment or case in all of your years of service?

Chief Brown: I would say catching a guy in Caln Township involved in a homicide. He stabbed his wife with a butcher knife and cut out her unborn child. She didn't survive. We caught him pretty fast - about a half hour to an hour later.

Patch: What is most memorable for you about being over in Iraq?

Chief Brown: I was 50 at the time when I went over there. I would say just watching 19, 20, 21-year-olds defending our principles and our country. When you see it as a 50-year-old, you see it differently; how young people stand up and do what they have to do. How they support and defend our country.

Patch: What excites you most about coming to work in Spring City?

Chief Brown: Being able to get everything stabilized and serving the people here. I like getting to know the businesses and talking to people. I want to get the community involved and talking. Communication is a problem nowadays with everyone. People don't like to talk. So, if we can get the community back together and talking, it will be good.
