SC Police Nab Prowler for Attempted Burglary

A 21-year-old Phoenixville man was arrested late last week.

SPRING CITY — A Phoenixville man who was allegedly “prowling” outside of a Spring City residence and attempted to break into the residence early Friday morning was arrested and charged with felony burglary and related offenses.

John William Pufko, 21, of 634 Mellon St., was taken into custody by Spring City police, who observed he displayed outward signs of intoxication.

Spring City Officer Jose Sousa indicated in the arrest affidavit filed with District Judge James V. DeAngelo’s court, that police were first called about a disturbance on North Main Street around 2:10 a.m. Friday. The victim told police they were woken up by the sound of a screen door being pulled on. When the victim went to the front door, they observed a white man with no shirt, wearing black shorts trying to open the door.
