Two-Vehicle Accident Disrupts Main and Church

A Monday night accident restricted Main Street and Church Road in Limerick to one lane.

Limerick Police received a request to respond to a multi-vehicle accident around 9:35 p.m. on Monday night. According to responding officer Brian Tyler, two people were taken to the hospital as a precautionary.

One man was suffering shortness of breath, which may have been from epilepsy. There were three people total involved in the accident - two in a tan Ford Focus and one in a white Ford Contour. Everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt.

The accident occurred when the Contour was traveling southbound on Main Street. The Focus came around the corner and crossed the double yellow lines and struck the Contour. Both cars were forced to the side of the road.

"Why she crossed the yellow lines? I don't know," said Tyler. "I will have to follow up with her tomorrow. She was pretty shaken up and couldn't answer that."

Main Street was restricted to one lane for approximately 35-40 minutes, according to Tyler.
