Valley Forge Baptist Honors Police and Fire Companies on Sept. 11

Royersford Police Chief Kevin Schurr was in attendance to accept a donation to the department.

The following was sent in to Patch by Pastor Scott Wendal of the Valley Forge Baptist Temple:

Special services were held on Sept. 11 at Valley Forge Baptist Temple. Firefighters and police officers from seven different stations were honored on Remembrance Sunday. The church family thanked our community servants with a standing ovation, a financial gift to each station, and a luncheon.

The Mont Clare Fire Company displayed a piece of steel from the World Trade Center.  They have plans to create an outdoor memorial at the fire station in the near future.  Attendance included Royersford Police Chief Kevin Schurr.
