Vehicle Operators at Fault in Recent Crashes

Limerick Township police released more information regarding recent motor vehicle accidents.

Limerick police are reporting new information regarding the on Township Line Road and the on Ridge Pike that recently occurred.

The overturned tanker incident, which occurred on June 28, was investigated by Limerick police, who said the operator of the tanker, Anthony Rainey, 39, of Fleetwood, was at fault.

According to police, the driver "was driving at a speed too fast to be able to avoid traffic stopped in front of him." A citation is currently pending.

The crash blocked W. Ridge Pike between Country Club Road and Royersford Road for about an hour while emergency crews cleaned up the scene.

In the accident on Township Line Road, the accident occurred between a 2007 BMW, operated by Douglas McCormack, 30 of Graterford Road and a 1993 Buick Regal operated by Ryan Grossger, 33 of Green Tree House Lane in Douglassville. Grossger struck McCormack's vehicle and a passenger in Grossger's vehicle sustained a head injury, according to police. The passenger was "flown by Medevac to a trauma center as a precaution."

An investigation revealed that the BMW failed to yield the right-of-way to the Buick. Police said McCormack was cited for the violation.
